Our winery used to be a ‘bodega de guarda’ (where wine used to be stored after being brought from the vineyard bodegas) that we have now reinvented so our customers can enjoy eating and drinking there. Founded over 300 years ago, it was abandoned for 14 years. With the help of local craftsmen. Fernando Ibarra, specialist in the ethnography of the area, we were able to restore in magnificently. The ‘bodegas de guarda’ were north facing to conserve the wine and, moreover, this example was semi-buried, in such a way that part of its walls are carved in the living rock of the mountain. This gives our wines humidity they need for their optimum conservation. We are in an exceptional location, 20 metres from the river Miño, in a place full of peace, with a viewpoint overlooking the river canyon, vineyards and forests, and more. We have a tasting area where you can taste our own wines or those of other winegrowers in Galicia, especially from the Ribeira Sacra. We transformed the old wooden vats into furniture and thus also created a point of sale. In our catamaran, you’ll be able to discover “O Cabo do Mundo”, Maiorga Island, visit the vineyards of Finca Míllara or the picturesque town of Belesar, the submerged village of Portotide or also the Augacaída waterfall.
