EXPLORE AND ENJOY THE PORTUGUESE COASTAL ROUTE WITH NAUTICAL ACTIVITIES
Discover and savour the Portuguese Coastal Route, also known as the Monacal Route, which has been officially recognised as part of the Camino de Santiago for several years. This pathway was historically traversed by pilgrims who, in bygone times, arrived at the Portuguese shores by boat from the other side of the Atlantic. According to legend, the origin of the scallop shell tradition, now one of the Camino’s most emblematic symbols, arose from an episode that occurred specifically along this route.
The guided route will proceed from Baiona to Nigrán and will include surfing activities at Patos beach as well as a meal.
Among other things, you will have the opportunity to relish the historical ensemble of Baiona and the arch of San Xoán de Panxón, both designated as sites of cultural interest, as well as protected natural spaces like Foz do Río Miñor in A Ramallosa (Baiona – Nigrán) and the dune ecosystem of Playa América – Panxón.
