Our facilities are located in a forest of over 42,000 m2, home to more than a thousand trees from over 20 distinct species. Guests are encouraged not only to enjoy the shelter, shade, and pleasure of walking among these trees – some centuries old – but also to learn to identify them, know about their fruits, use their firewood, and enjoy the ecosystem they favour. We provide firewood to heat the cabins and communal facilities, and we reward those who are able to locate and identify a minimum of 12 different tree species. We make it very enticing, as the prize we offer is a sapling (oak, maple, birch, etc.) ready to be planted, nurtured, and treasured for years to come – and our goal is to give away many trees.
