Route of the Hillforts
Do you know Redes? We bet you do! Did you have a drink on the ramp at Emi’s bar getting your feet wet? We bet you did! Did you see Redes from the sea? We bet you didn’t!!!
It depends only on the tide, for convenience, to dock the electric and accessible catamaran at the harbour ramp of the port of Redes, to start THE ROUTE OF THE HILLFORTS, so we can learn a little more why more than 2,000 years ago women and men inhabited the islets that mark the holography of the Ria de Ares.
What will you discover? As far as the eye can see and as far as the imagination can fly, beaches inaccessible by land, lush vegetation that caresses the sea and is home to many birds… and the occasional Celt shellfishing among the rocks. Well, it maybe not a Celt from the past, but the seafood is from present times.
We’ll travel from Redes, bordering Cabanas, Pontedeume, Centroña, to Carboeira, and to As Mirandas, to return to the port of Ares or Redes, as you prefer.
There is sure to be some snacks on board, there always are, mile-0 products, as it can’t be any other way.
We’ll sail for about three hours, and, you’ll see, it will fly by, or, better said, sail by.
